Calling all teachers! Want to teach your students a bit more about STEM while having a hands-on experience? Think about setting up a field trip to one of our locations! There, students will be able to learn about the competition teams, what it takes to build a competition robot, and what other students their ages are currently learning at our summer camps and after-school programs. While you visit, students will be led by our instructors who will aid them in building their own robots that they will be able to take home with them! As students build their robots, they will learn about how robots operate from the smallest of gears, to how circuits work and how tools like screwdrivers are safely used. Our goal is to help inspire students to start learning STEM and jumpstart their critical thinking skills. Depending on the ages of the students, the questions asked by our Roboteer staff will vary in difficulty and depth of explanation. Email us your 2024-2025 planned date and time, we will set up an exciting adventure for your students! (less) ... Read more

Our private tours just for kids from ages 6-12 are uniquely tailored for that age group in a variety of ways. According to their age, we are sensitive to the carefully chosen subject matter. Our aim is to concentrate on the elements of art such as color, line, composition, perspective, forms of sculpture and the historical, narrative of the artwork. This approach ensures that the child receives knowledge that can be applied at any art museum. It is an introduction to the art world that emphasizes how to look at and what to look for when viewing any work of art. By utilizing visual and tactile aids and games, we involve the child in the techniques, process and artists' motivations. At the same time, we ensure the adult chaperones (over 18) are entertained as well. After the tour, you'll be amazed by the shared discoveries you have experienced together. In addition, each child is presented with an "Art Appreciation Badge" and gift. These one-hour tours are available exclusively at The Getty Center and The Getty Villa. (less) ... Read more

Theatre West's education programs seek to serve the community by presenting quality theater for younger audiences and using theater skills to present positive and stimulating educational programs that meet California Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) standards. The in-school theatre education program is designed to introduce pre-school and elementary school age children to different aspects of drama including characterization, emotional expression, understanding story, voice projection and enunciation, body language, and awareness. Through theater games, children learn the importance of teamwork and working together. Their involvement in the arts helps build confidence. They learn basic stage vocabulary, team-building, improve their creativity and use of their imagination, and develop greater empathy and socio-emotional learning. (less) ... Read more
